NEW LONDON, Conn. - Freshman Adora Lawrence was named CGASPORTS.COM Athlete of the Week for being named New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) co-rookie of the year, setting an individual school record and helped the 4x400 set a second at the NEWMAC conference championship.
Lawrence was second in the 800 running 2:15.08 breaking the school record of 2:17.62 set by Ashlee Johnson last season. Her career best time moves her into the top ten in Division III New England at ninth place. She then teamed up with senior Sarah Cummings, freshmen Madeline Colwell and Anna Beck to become the first team in school history to break four in the 4x400 (3:59.55) for a second place finish. It is the eighth fastest time in Division III New England this season.
The Bears are back in action this Friday and Saturday, May 5th and 6th, when they compete at the Division III New England Track and Field Championship hosted by Williams.
