Cantrell Earns Pair of Weekly Awards
NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Coast Guard Academy
sophomore diver Sara Cantrell has been named both the New England
Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Diver of the
Week and the CGASPORTS.COM Athlete of the Week as she broke the
school-record on the 3-meter board and qualified for the NCAA
Championships in the Bears 142-95 win at Clark on Saturday.
Cantrell posted victories in both the 1-meter (240.40) and 3-meter
(280.55) diving events in the win as Coast Guard won its second
straight to improve to 5-6 on the season.
The Bears close out the regular season at Wesleyan on Saturday at
1 p.m.
Coast Guard will then prepare for the NEWMAC Championship meet at
MIT Feb. 14-17th.
