Merle Smith Featured in D.C. African-American Museum

CDR Merle Smith, a former Coast Guard football player and the first African American graduate of the Academy in 1966 is featured in the D.C. African-American museum.

Last season, the 50th anniversary of the first African American graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, the football team wore a sticker on their helmet to commemorate Smith.
