TOP MOMENT #4 – Sailing Continues National Success

As we approach the holiday season and the New Year, we will take a look back at the Top Ten moments in Coast Guard Academy Athletics during the 2017 year.

We have compiled a list and will unveil one a day for the next 10 weekdays and culminating with the announcement of the top moment on December 29th.

TOP MOMENT #4 – Sailing Continues National Success

In the Spring, women's sailing team, the defending national champions, placed third at the Sperry Women's National Championship Finals while the co-ed team finished ninth at the Gill Coed National Championship.

This Fall, senior Dana Rohde won the won the New England Singlehanded Championship for the Women's Olympians Trophy. This marks the third time Coast Guard has taken home the fall singlehanded championship. Krysia Pohl ('97) won the event in 1994 and 1996.

The sailing program continues to bring national attention to the Academy.
