As we approach the holiday season and the New Year, we will take a look back at the Top Ten moments in Coast Guard Academy Athletics during the 2017 year.
We have compiled a list and will unveil one a day for the next 10 weekdays and culminating with the announcement of the top moment on December 29th.

TOP MOMENT #2 – Kim and Oh and Women's Air Pistol Win National Championships in Pistol
Sophomores Helen Oh and Brian Kim each won a national championship at the National Pistol Championship.
Oh fired a 467.8 to beat Rachel Cantrel from Utah by 4.2 points to the in the Air Pistol Championship for the second straight season.
In the Men's Air Pistol 40 shot Match, Kim won the National Collegiate Championship with a superb 377.
In the combined three event individual aggregate, Free Pistol, Standard Pistol, and Air Pistol, Kim won his second national championship of the week, the National Pistol Championship, firing a 1643 over the three events. Oh was fourth with a 1613 points.
In the Individual Air Pistol competition, Oh and Kim both competed in the Finals, where the top eight shooters fire an additional ten shots. Kim shot a perfect 10.9 on the last shot to defeat Anthony McCollum of Ohio State University by 0.3 points, 661.6 to 661.3. Oh finished in third place firing a 659.5.
The women's team also captured the Air Pistol National Championship as the team of Oh, junior Meghan Van Hise and sophomore Annika Lehenbauer won with 1,082 points to beat Ohio State by seven.
