The Coast Guard Academy Athletic Department will host the seventh annual Women's LeadHERship Symposium on Tuesday in the Otto Graham Hall of Athletic Excellence in Billard Hall.
Prominent women in the field of Intercollegiate Athletics will get together and discuss leadership among other things at the Academy.
Pam Borton, the winningest women's basketball coach at the University of Minnesota and now an ICF Senior Executive Coach, will serve as the keynote speaker and will speak at 9:15 a.m.
Cora Brumley, Commissioner of the Little East Conference and Kiki Jacobs, Director of Athletics at Roger Williams will facilitate Break Out sessions at 10:30 a.m.
Borton, Brumley and Jacobs along with Shelly Morris, Associate Head Field Hockey Coach at Northeastern, Mary Ellen Gillespie, Director of Athletics at the University of Hartford, Sue Lauder, Director of Athletics at Fitchburg State and Jess Duff, Special Assistant to the Director of Athletics at MIT will host panel discussions to highlight the afternoon programing.
"Our goal in hosting this Symposium is to promote leadership development for athletic staff members from a variety of institutions, while providing a close-knit atmosphere to facilitate discussion and networking," said Andrea Stewart and Katherine Bossardet, Co-Coordinators of the Women's LeadHERship Symposium.
