Five Individuals and Both Teams Honored for Academics by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Coast Guard had five cadet-athletes as well as both track and field teams honored for academic achievement by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Seniors Anita Green (Mechanical Engineering) and Caroline Jenkins (Government) as well and juniors Anna Beck (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering) and Adora Lawrence (Marine and Environmental Science) earned USTFCCA All-Academic honors for the second straight season while junior Ben Zarlengo (Operations Research and Computer Analysis) was named to the team for the first time in his career.

The men's team had a 3.26 GPA while the women's team finished with a 3.18 GPA to garner All-Academic team honors.  In order to be in contention for Scholar Team of the Year, a program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship and/or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
