Rob McKnabb is in his first season as an assistant coach for the
Coast Guard wrestling team.
During his high school career, Rob competed at Chicago Mount
Carmel High School for Hall-of-Fame and former Olympic coach Bill
Weick. In college, Rob competed at Division III Illinois College
where his was a two-time conference place-winner at 118lbs and was
named Rookie of the Year following a 24 win freshman season.
Previously, Rob has coached at Triton College in Illinois with Hall-of-Fame Coach Harry McGinnis. During his tenure, Rob has coached 21 Academic All Americans, 24 National Qualifiers, and two All Americans. He was an adjunct faculty member in the Health, Sport, and Exercise Science Department.
In addition, Rob has coached at the high school level for eight years. He coached at Macomb, St. Viator, and Prospect High Schools. Rob has coached 12 state qualifiers, two state place winners in Illinois, and seven wrestlers who have wrestled at the Division 1 level.
Coach McKnabb is an instructor in the Health and Physical Education Department. He resides in Waterford with his wife, Erin, and their children; Stephen, Caitlin, and Colin.
