Bears Release 2014 Football Schedule
NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Coast Guard Academy has announced its 2014 Football schedule which will begin with back-to-back home games on Sept. 6th and 13th and conclude on Nov. 15th at MIT.
The Bears were 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) last season. Coast Guard started the season 0-3 and lost three games during the year by seven points or less.
Coast Guard will return 20 starters, including seven All-conference performers and the 2013 NEFC Offensive Rookie of the Year, quarterback Derek Victory. The Bears return ten starters on defense, five of which earned All-conference honors last season.
"We are a growing and maturing team that will have more experience than we had last year," said head coach Bill George, who enters his 16th season.

Homecoming will be Oct. 11th vs. Curry while the Bears will celebrate Parents' Weekend on Oct. 25th against Endicott.
"This offseason every guy has worked extremely hard and dedicated themselves to improving in every aspect of football," said Coach George. "Everyone is looking forward to this season and you can sense the excitement the instant that we as coaches are around these guys. "
