NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard junior linebacker Eugene Bizer has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Bizer had a career-high 16 tackles and 2.5 for loss to lead the Coast Guard defense as the Bears held off Catholic 20-14 in double overtime on Homecoming Weekend.
He leads the NEWMAC with 54 tackles, has seven tackles for loss, a sack with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries on the season.
Bizer wins the NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week award for the second time this season.
Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday when the Bears host Springfield in a NEWMAC game at 1:30.
