NEW LONDON, Conn.—The Coast Guard Academy men's basketball team opens up play in the New Year on Wednesday at Salve Regina with tip set for 6 p.m.

The men's and women's teams will open the home portion of the second semester schedule when the women's team hosts Babson at 5:30 p.m. before the men host WPI at 7:30 p.m.

Both the men's and women's basketball team will play eight home games in the second semester all of which can be seen at courtesy of the Coast Guard Academy Division of Athletics.

"We know the importance streaming our home games so that our parents, alumni and fans across the country have the opportunity to watch all of the basketball games live," said Jason Southard, Director of Athletic Media Relations.

Senior Greg Marshall leads the men's team with 13.6 points per game while sophomore David Anderson is averaging 10.9 points to go with his team-high 7.5 rebounds per game. The Bears are 1-7 on the season.

The women's basketball team will play at WPI on January 5th at 1 p.m. to kick off the second semester. Freshman Meghan Fornaro leads the Bears with 14.4 points per game. Coast Guard is 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
