WORCESTER, Mass. – John Piscreta had a game-high 20 points and Clark shot 57 percent in at 97-75 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Coast Guard drops to 10-11 overall and 2-9 in the NEWMAC while Clark improves to 4-19 overall and 1-11 in conference play.
Luca McCormick added a double-double for Clark with 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Junior Luke Daniels had a season-high 14 points for Coast Guard while sophomores Packy Witkowski (11) and Justin Kane (10) also scored in double figures for the Bears. Freshman Paul Costain added a career-high eight points off the bench while classmate Tyler Jones had a team and career-high six rebounds.
The Bears shot 42.2 percent from the floor (27-64) while making 7 of 22 from 3-point range. Clark made 9 of 22 from behind the arc.
Clark scored 11 straight in the first half turning a 27-27 tie into a 38-27 lead with 6:17 left. It would start a 17-2 run which made the score 44-29 with 4:20 left in the half. The Cougars led 49-40 at halftime.
The Cougars maintained a double figure lead the entire second half and put the game away with a 14-0 run to take a commanding 77-51 lead with 11:06 left.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday when they host Wheaton at 5:30.
