Regan Resigns as Men's Rowing Coach

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Colin Regan, head coach of the Coast Guard Academy men's rowing team, has resigned to pursue other opportunities.

"On behalf of the Academy and the cadet-athletes in the men's rowing program, we'd like to express our sincere appreciation to Colin for his dedicated service to CGA over the past two years," said Tim Fitzpatrick, Coast Guard Academy Director of Athletics. "We all wish him the very best in his future endeavors and career pursuits."

Regan was head coach of the Bears for the past two years and prior to arriving at the Academy, he spent six seasons as an assistant men's coach at Williams College while also serving as the head coach at Penn A.C. for three summers.

While at Williams, the Ephs were the overall team champions at the New England Division III Rowing Championships in 2009 and 2012. The Varsity 8 won four straight New England Championships from 2009-2012, and went undefeated in the 2012 season. Williams was named the ECAC Rowing Program of the Year in both 2011 and 2012 capturing the team championship in 2012.

Coast Guard will immediately begin a national search to fill Regan's position.
