The Varsity 8 lineup was as follows:
C – Michaela Hepler
8 – Daniel Beacon

5 – Stephen Bruno
4 – Ross Markham
3 – Ian Hopper

"I would have liked a glorious start to the season, but it was not to be," said head coach Bill Randall. " MIT's 1V jumped out right for the start over stroking us and rowing well (their experience showed). We had a close race all the way down there course with the MIT 2V. In the last 3rd of the race we closed the gap to about five seats before they opened it back up to two seconds at the finish. his was the first spring sprint race for both Walter Daniels and Ian Hopper, as well as our coxswain Mikki Hepler, and all three perform very well."
The Bears are back in action on Saturday at Tufts.
