SHELTON, Conn. – The Bears Novice won a silver medal while Varsity 8 won a bronze medal to highlight the day of racing at the Head of the Housatonic.

The Bears Varsity 8 placed third out of 16 crews behind only Boston College and West Point and well ahead of Merchant Marine Academy with a time of 13:55.6. They were able row an aggressive piece that was could be ranked as their best row of the season to-date.

The novice men were second in 13:58 only .4 seconds behind Marist and ahead of the two West Point Novice eights.

The varsity and the novice fours were successful in their trip down the course and we were able to get 25 separate rowers down the course.

"The next two weeks at all about preparing for the Head of the Charles, where the men will be rowing in two separate eight oared events over the two day regatta," said head coach Bill Randall.
