| Title: | Assistant Coach |
Pete Tebeau is in his fourth year as an assistant coach. Coach
Tebeau is a plank-owner of CGA crew; one of the program’s
founding members, having rowed in Coast Guard’s first
Heavyweight Men’s 8 during the Spring of 1971. Pete also
served as team captain, that same year.
Upon graduating from the Academy, Coach T spent 22 years on active
duty, retiring as a CDR in 1993. Since 1993, Pete has worked as a
maritime consultant completing numerous projects for the Coast
Guard, other agencies, industry, and academia in the areas of
maritime strategic planning and analysis, marine technology, and
marine environmental protection. Since the Fall of 2007,
Tebeau has also been a faculty member at CGA teaching marine
science courses to our cadets.
Active in the rowing community at large, Pete serves as a lead
organizer for the Coastweeks Regatta held each September at the
Mystic Seaport, home of the Rowing Hall of Fame. Coach Tebeau is
also one of the founders of Friends of CGA Crew, an association of
CGA Rowing Alumni and supporters, which provides ongoing support to
the team.
