Big Second Half Leads Bears to 4th Straight Win

WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- Coast Guard outscored New Haven 6-1 in the second period and 9-1 in the second half to break open a 3-3 game after one period en route to an 18-5 win.

Stuart Carley, Eric Schmidt and John Tarzian were explosive offensively for the Bears as they won their fourth straight to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Ryan Carpenter was outstanding in goal making 24 saves allowing just two goals over the final three quarters.

Nick Chicoine was especially strong in the second half on faceoffs and the Bears allowed just one goal in seven man down situations.

The midfield of Pat Dreiss, Kyle Carosotto and Louis DePaolis were the key in the momentum swing from the first quarter to final three quarters.

The Bears are back in action on Sunday at Stonehill at 1 p.m.
