Schmid Scores 100th Goal in Win Over WPI
NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard closed out the regular season with 13-5 win over WPI on Senior Day.
Eric Schmid scored the 100th goal of his career and finished with a team-high four goals and one assist while John Tarzian and Stuart Carley each had two goals and three assists in the win.
Coast Guard led 6-2 at halftime and 11-2 after three quarters.
Jeff Bors, Zach Wells, Matt Panciocco and Nicholas Mombello led the Bears stifling defense in the win over the Engineers.
Pat Dreiss and Bors were outstanding in the transition game from the midfield.
Ryan Carpenter was outstanding in goal once again to pick up the victory.
Coast Guard finished the regular season 8-4 and will now host the New Haven Club team on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League (PCLL) tournament . The Bears beat New Haven 18-5 during the regular season.
