NEW LONDON, Conn. - Junior goalie Trey Johnson added to his early season accolades becoming the first player in program history to be named to the USILA Division III team of the week after leading the Bears to a 4-1 start including a 10-9 victory over No. 2 Wesleyan.
Johnson earned NEWMAC defensive athlete of the week honors as well as he remained undefeated on the season with two victories including a 10-9 OT upset win over No. 2 Wesleyan. Johnson made 11 saves in the Bears victory over the Cardinals followed by another five in Coast Guard's 11-4 win against Goucher. He leads the NEWMAC with a 6.64 goals against average and as of March 13th was 6th in the country in the same category. He has not allowed more than nine goals in any games this season.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday, March 21st when they take on Maritime of New York. Opening face off is 5:00 PM
