NEW LONDON, Conn.-Coast Guard men's soccer senior John Rendon has been selected to play in the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) Senior District Division III All-Star Game on Sunday, December 1st, as announced by the NEISL.
The Division III All-Star Game will start at 12:00 pm on the campus of Harvard University, and will be followed by the Division I and II game at 2:00 pm.
Rendon, a midfielder, was a 2012 second team All-NEWMAC selection after posting three goals and three assists, good for nine points. In his senior season he totaled five assists for five points while finishing his career with totals of four goals, 12 assists, and 20 points while playing in 74 games.
The West Harwich, Mass. native led the Bears to a 9-7-4 record this season (3-3-1 NEWMAC) and helped them to a berth in the tournament semi-finals after defeating Springfield in double overtime in the first round, 2-1.
Coach Parsons was proud of Rendon's selection, saying, "The selection of Jake to play in the All-Star Game is well-deserved. He was a great leader and player for us the last two years and impacted the program from his freshman season on. Congrats to Jake!"
In his four year, Rendon helped to lead the Bears to a record of 35-31-8 and two appearances in the NEWMAC Tournament semi-finals.
