NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Coast Guard Academy Men's Soccer program's Prospect Day/ID Clinic on Saturday, July 15th is now full and registration is now for the wait list only.
The Prospect Day/ID Clinic will provide high school aged male soccer players two opportunities. The first is to learn about the Coast Guard Academy through a typical admissions brief and tour. Second, players will experience a typical instructional training session run by the Coast Guard Academy men's soccer coaching staff. The day will culminate with 11 v 11 matches.
The brief is an introduction to the Academy, cadet life, and the admissions process that will be presented by a Coast Guard Academy Admissions Officer. Registrants will also receive a tour of campus before breaking for lunch. After lunch, the ID Clinic will take place at the Soccer and Track complex along the Thames River. Head coach Chris Parsons and assistant coaches, Pat McCarney and Anthony Occhialini look forward to training the attendees in the afternoon.
"The Coast Guard Academy is a unique institution. We felt it was time to provide interested high school soccer players with the information necessary to determine if CGA is a school of interest," said Parsons, who enters his 16thseason this Fall. "In addition it is a great opportunity to share our coaching philosophies as well as to showcase our fantastic soccer facility."
