NEW LONDON, Conn. – Seth Anderson's header in the sixth minute was the only goal of the game as Coast Guard knocked off Wesleyan 1-0 in a non-conference game.
Coast Guard improves to 7-5 overall while the Cardinals, who tied the #1 team in the nation Tufts 1-1 last week and fell to No. 2 Amherst 2-0 on Saturday, drop to 4-3-3.
Wesleyan was 3-0 this season against the NEWMAC winning all three games by shutout.
Coast Guard had the only goal of the first half in the sixth minute when Seth Anderson scored on a header off a rebound which was started from a free kick. It was just the sixth goal allowed in the 10 games this season for the Cardinals.
Dakota Harich (4-3) made nine saves to record his second shutout of the season.
Liam Devanny (3-3-3) had six saves for Wesleyan which outshot the Bears 18-11.
