Marty Walker
Title: Goalkeeper Coach

Marty Walker is in his second season at the United States Coast Guard fulfilling the role of goalkeeper coach. 

Marty grew up in Derry, Ireland where he played with semi-professional outfit Institute F.C. before signing for his hometown professional team Derry City F.C. He went on to play in England with Blyth Spartans whilst at University before transferring to become starting GK at Division I Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. After returning to Europe Marty again had spells with semi-professional teams in Ireland, England and in Norway.

As a goalkeeper coach Marty has trained keepers at the University of Ulster in Ireland and Northumbria University in Newcastle, England. He also coached for the Irish Football Association coaching their young goalkeepers on the excellence, elite and youth International programs. His coaching is not limited to goalkeepers and he currently coaches premier teams at Sports World F.C. 

Marty is also a qualified Sport Psychologist having completed his Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Northumbria University. This has allowed Marty to set up TRAIN YOUR MIND; his Sport Psychology Consultancy that has seen him work with athletes in all sports, but in soccer Marty has assisted players from professional teams such as Manchester United, Celtic, Newcastle United and Sunderland. 

Walker has also worked with several professional goalkeepers and goalkeeper coaches on the psychology of goalkeeping. 

He also worked as a coach educator for UEFA on their licensing programs delivering sessions on the psychology of coaching.
Living in New London Conn., Marty is currently the Regional Director at UK International Soccer.
