NEW LONDON, Conn.-Coast Guard junior Christian Brindamour has been named Co-Swimmer of the Week as announced by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference for his performance over the weekend.
The Manchester, Conn. native was one of few bright spots for the Bears over the weekend in a loss to arch-rival Merchant Marine. The freestyle sprinter – one of the top sprinters in Division III – won a pair of individual events while helping a relay team to a victory and another to a second place finish.
In winning both the 50- and 100- freestyle events, Brindamour finished in impressive times of 20.86 and 48.02 seconds, respectively. He also helped the 400-freestyle team to a victory in a time of 3:15.80 and aided in the 200-medley relay team's second place finish in 1:36.48.
The award follows Brindamour being named Philip Hunsaker CollegeSwimming.com Swimmer of the Week last week when he won both freestyle sprints and anchored both the 400 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay in a loss to MIT.
Coast Guard's men's and women's swimming teams return to action on Saturday, January 25th when they host Clark at noon.
