Sodemann, Roh Lead Bears Past Springfield in Opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior Chasse Sodemann and freshman Josh Roh each won a pair of events leading Coast Guard to a 175-112 win over Springfield in the season opener.

Sodemann won the 100 breaststroke (58.26) and the 100 freestyle (48.95) while Roh won the 200 freestyle (1:47.46) and the 500 freestyle (4:54.54) to lead the Bears.

Also for the Bears, junior Taylor Rowe won the 1,000 freestyle (10:13.13), junior Patrick Jackson won the 100 backstroke (54.38),  senior Ross Garrett won the 200 butterfly (2:00.61), senior Brandon Ledford won the 50 freestyle (22.62), senior Andrew Campbell won the 200 backstroke (2:05.67), and freshman Eric Fuhs won the 200 breaststroke (2:11.71).

The 200 relay team of Jackson, Sodemann, Garrett and sophomore Joe Rodriguez  won with a time of 1:36.21.

The Bears are back in action on Friday night at Wheaton at 6:00.
