Bears Post Pair of Wins to Close Regular Season

MIDDLETOWN, Conn.  – Freshman Eric Fuhs won three individual events as Coast Guard beat both Division I Fairfield and host Wesleyan to finish the regular season.

The Bears beat Wesleyan 184-113 and beat the Stags 225-66 to finish 7-2 in dual meets this season.

Fuhs won the 100 breaststroke (58.45), the 200 breaststroke (2:08.28) and the 200 IM (1:57.84) to lead the Bears to the two wins.                                              

Junior Taylor Rowe won the 1,000 freestyle (9:51.97), sophomore Joe Rodriguez won the 50 freestyle (21.29) and senior Ross Garrett won the 100 butterfly (51.66).

Coast Guard's 200 medley relay of junior Patrick Jackson, junior Chasse Sodemann, Garrett and Rodriguez won with a time of 1:35.33 while the 200 freestyle relay of freshman John Feller, sophomore John Pompay, freshman Tyler Dominick and Rodriguez won in 1:25.44.

The Bears will now prepare for the NEWMAC Championship Feb. 22-25 at MIT.
