Bears Close Out Regular Season at Cougar Invite

WORCESTER, Mass. – Juniors Zach Baker and Josh Turner each won two individual events and were part of a winning relay as the Bears took part in the Cougar Invite, a non-scoring meet at Clark.

Baker won the 100 backstroke (53.38) and the 200 backstroke (1:55.49) while Turner won the 100 freestyle (49.83) and the 500 freestyle (5:01.72).

The Bears 200 medley relay team of Baker, junior Justin Kang, freshman Mike Axelsson and Turner won with a time of 1:39.84.

Freshman TJ Dugan won the 200 IM (1:59.42) and the 200 butterfly (1:56.60) while junior Terry Jung won the 50 breaststroke (27.86) and the 100 breaststroke (1:01.43) for the Bears.

Also for Coast Guard, Axelsson won the 100 butterfly (52.62), sophomore Noah Vetrovec won the 200 freestyle (1:47.73) and Kang won the 200 breaststroke (2:12.66).

Coast Guard is back in action on Feb. 22nd at the NEWMAC Championships at MIT.
