Bears Swim Five Events During Day Two of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --  Coast Guard swam in five different events, four on the men's side and one on the women's side during the second day of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.

The men's 400 medley relay of junior Patrick Jackson, junior Chasse Sodemann, senior Ross Garrett and sophomore Joe Rodriguez place 20th with a time of 3:24.27.

The same four swam in the 200 free relay and placed 22nd with a time of 1:24.57.

Jackson was also 30th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.97.

Junior Taylor Rowe was 46th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.50.

The Coast Guard women swam in their first event of the championship on Thursday morning as the women's 200 free relay of freshman Sarah Passilla, junior Kristen Young, junior Christina McCulla and freshman Emily Benson placed 29th with a time of 1:38.57.

Coast Guard will compete in three more events on Friday on the third day of the four day NCAA Division III Championship.
