Bears Beat Holy Cross 7-2

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(2/11/12)--Coast Guard opened up the spring portion of the 2011-12 season with a 7-2 win over Division I Holy Cross.

The Bears won four of six singles matches and swept the doubles to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Greg Mitchell won at #1 singles, 6-4, 6-2, Josh Fischer won 6-4, 6-1 at #3 singles, Nick Martin won 6-4, 6-2 at #4 singles while David Blystone registered a 6-0, 6-3 win at #5 singles.

Martin and Mitchell won 6-3 at #1 doubles, Fischer and Blystone won 9-8 at #2 doubles while Blake Maurer and Wes Figaro won 9-7 at #3 doubles for Coast Guard
