Scalesse Leads Bears at Tufts
MEDFORD, MASS.--(2/4/12)--Sophomore Adam Scalesse won the 60 meter hurdles as the Bears tied for sixth at the Tufts Invitational.
Coast Guard tied for sixth place with Navy Prep with 48 points. Host Tufts won with 125 points while UMass Dartmouth was second with 87.5 points.
Scalesse won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.32.
The Bears 4x400 relay team of freshman Kelcey Smith, freshman Ben Hannon, Jordan Lee and freshman Joe Kelly was second with a time of 3:29.57 while the Bears 4x800 relay team of James Martin, Zach Kearney, Ryan Hub, and Myles McCarthy took fourth with a time of 8:27.59.
Senior Kemron Beach was fourth in the shot put (47 feet, 3.75 inches), Kelly was fourth in the 600 meters (1:24.12), Lee was fifth in the 800 meters (2:00.14) while sophomore Clay Kosack took seventh in the heptathlon with 3,744 points.
