Ten Athletes Earn All-New England Honors

LEWISTON, Maine—Junior All-American Adam Scalesse set a meet record and placed third in the 60 meter hurdles and was part of the 4x400 meter relay team which placed third to earn All-New England honors at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship at Bates College.

Scalesse, who ran a meet record 8.20 in the qualifying heat, placed third with a time of 8.40 in the finals.

Sophomore Ben Hannon earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 50.55.

Hannon also teamed with sophomore James Dawkins, freshman Fred Higgins and Scalesse for a third place finish with a time of 3:24.20 in the 4x400 relay.

Junior Thomas Bondurant placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 53 feet, 5.5 inches to earn All-New England honors.

Junior Clay Kosack placed seventh in the heptathlon with 4,206 points earning All-New England honors. He was best finishes were third in both the shot put (39-2.50) and the 1,000 meters (2:47.42) in the event.

The Bears 4x800 meter relay team of sophomore James Martin, sophomore Zack Kearney, sophomore Joe Kelly and junior Jordan Lee placed sixth to earn All-New England honors with a time of 8:04.63.

Coast Guard finished ninth of the 22 team with 24 points while MIT won with 118.5 points.
