NEW ORLEANS. La.--Junior All-American Adam Scalesse has been named The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) New England Region Athlete of the Year for the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field season.
Scalesse has posted the best time in Division III this season in the 100 hurdles with a 14.16 and he also has the 11th fastest time in Division III in the 400 hurdles (52.66). The top 20 from each event will compete at the NCAA Championships.
He is a three-time All-American, twice indoors in the 60 hurdles and once outdoors in the 110 hurdles is heading back to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 23-25 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
He placed seventh in 2012 and was second this season in the 60 hurdles at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships and placed eighth last season in the 110 hurdles last year at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
Scalesse was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Year as he won the 110 hurdles and placed second in the 400 hurdles.
