Zarlengo Breaks CGA Weight Throw Record at Triangle Invitational

Springfield, Mass.-- Ben Zarlengo broke his own school record in the weight throw as he improved on his performance with a toss of 18.71m (61' 4.75) to lead Coast Guard men's track and field at the Triangle Invitational at Springfield on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Edward Carroll and Adam Jibril-Barnes posted career best performances that are also top 10 at Coast Guard in the 60 hurdles. Jibril-Barnes finished at 8.70 and Carroll finished at 8.95.

Sophomore Daniel Taglianetti finished the 400m in third overall at 53.04. Senior Alex Kearney finished the 1000m with a time of 2:36.52. Senior Benjamin Taminger ran the 600m with a time of 1:24.09 and a third place finish.

Junior Jacob McGlumphy finished fourth overall in the 3000m with a time of 8:55.28. Sophomore Joseph Roth and Logan Bonner finished in second and third place in the 5000m with times of 16:01.43 and 16:12.54.

The Bears are back in action next Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23, as they compete in the Division III New England Championships at Bowdoin.
