Bears Place Second at Wesleyan

Middletown, Conn.--Coast Guard posted a second place finish out of 10 teams at the Wesleyan University Invitational.

Coast Guard finished with five scoring runners in the top 30 finishers with junior Gary Ezzo as the top CGA runner placing 5th overall.

Ezzo covered the 8k course in 26:31. In the second scoring spot for the Bears was sophomore Joe O'Connell placing 15th and running 27:20.

Moving up within the top five runners was Jordan Lee posting a strong finish of 27:28 in 16th place. Rounding out the top scoring positions for Coast Guard were Ryan O'Neil (26th) and Brad Pienta (27th) running 28:03 and 28:04 respectively.

Stephen Horvath (28:31), Nick Foster (28:34), and Jon Lash (28:34) also ran well today.

Bowdoin won with 18 points while the Bears were second with 81 points.

Coast Guard will be off next weekend, but will return to race at the James Earley Invitational 8K at Westfield State University on October 6th.
