NEW LONDON, Conn.-Senior Gary Ezzo has been named Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference today.
The senior from Scottsdale, Ariz. placed 19th in a field of 372 Division I, II, and III runners at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday. Despite the hot and humid conditions, he completed the 8K course in an impressive time of 25:51, good for third among all Division III runners.
His performance helped key the Bears to a seventh place showing overall, and an impressive second place finish among Division III teams. The honor is the second of Ezzo's career, with the other coming October 8th of 2012.
The team will return to action on Saturday, October 12th when they head to Westfield State to compete at the James Earley Invitational.
