Bears Compete at Purple Valley Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Coast Guard men's cross country team finished in 20th place at the Williams College Purple Valley Invitational Saturday morning.

The Bears wrapped up their 20th place finish with 554 points. SUNY Geneseo was the top team with 87 points followed by RPI with 91.

Sophomore Andre Gallant was Coast Guard's top finisher in 85th place (28:19.6) followed by junior Colton Atkinson (106th, 28:48.2) and sophomore Jacob Panning (112th, 28:56.3).

Junior Alex Kearney was the Bears fourth runner to finish in 29:03.8 (121st) followed closely by freshman Matthew Doyle (130th, 29:14.2).

Wrapping up the top seven for Coast Guard was senior Timothy O'Loughlin (131st, 29:14.2) and sophomore Kyle Hansen (139th, 29:26.4).

The Bears are back in action on Saturday, September 30th, when they travel to Saratoga, New York for the Saratoga Invitational.
