ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Bears swept Navy in all events in shoulder-to-shoulder competition at Bancroft Hall. The Bears finished with 6274 points against Navy's 6177.
The Bears handed the Midshipmen a loss in each of the five pistol events this weekend. Freshman Daniel Cheon led all competitors in Free Pistol with a 511, with the Bears winning their first event over Navy, 1976 to 1930. With a 46 point lead going into Standard Pistol, Junior Brian Kim led all shooters with a 547 and the Bears had their second victory over Navy, 2105 to 2081. A 70 point lead going into the last of the three Open events was too much for Navy, and again they fell to the Bears. Freshman Daniel Cheon led all competitors in Air Pistol with a 564, with the Bears winning their third event over Navy, 2193 to 2166. To help in the victory were Sophomore Kevin Bennett, and Freshman D.J. Corbett and Esther Choe.
