Paisker Ties Air Rifle Record in Win

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Coast Guard was victorious in a Mid Atlantic Conference match-up at home against State University of New York Maritime College in the Chase Hall shooting complex.

Co-captain junior Alexis Chavarria-Aguilar led the field in smallbore with a 561 backed by co-captain senior Daniela Andrade, sophomore Katiya Resney, and freshman Nicholas Paisker. The team was well rounded, representing all four classes, and winning the smallbore event.

Paisker tied a Coast Guard Academy record in air rifle with a 580, also a personal best, as he combined with Resney, Chavarria-Aguilar, and Andrade for the win in air.

Junior Marek Pilarski, sophomores Christian Bentley and Vincent Lee, and Freshman John Roddy all had season high performances in smallbore. Roddy also had his best performance of the year in air rifle.


The Bears won both disciplines winning smallbore 2166 to 2053 and air 2253 to 2177 and will have a week off before facing Loyola at home on February 15th.
