Bear Pair Honored by MAC

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference honored two Coast Guard cadets at its annual coaches' meeting held at the State University of New York Maritime College, Fort Schuyler, New York on April 5th.

Senior Daniela Andrade was named to the MAC All-Academic Team for her excellence in scholarship. Andrade, a team captain, has been a mainstay of the Bear's rifle program consistently producing scores that helped the team to the 2014 MAC Air Rifle Championship. It is a fitting capstone to Andrade's Coast Guard career for, upon graduation, she returns to her native Ecuador to serve in la Armada del Ecuador.

Freshman Nick Paisker earned a position on the MAC All Rookie Team. Paisker is well deserving of this honor as he has paced Coast Guard in both smallbore and air rifle all season. Paisker came to Coast Guard with experience as a junior rifleman and parlayed that with hard work as a freshman athlete to establish a new school record in air rifle and then to break it a few weeks later.

The honors accorded to Cadets Andrade and Paisker speak well of a team deeply committed to excellence in all areas of Cadet life and Coast Guard Core Values.
