#10 Bears Swept at Rebel Games
KISSIMMEE, FLA.--(3/7/12)--Coast Guard, which moved up to 10th in the national rankings on Wednesday morning dropped a pair of games at the Rebel Games.
The Bears lost two games on the same day for the first time since 2008 losing to 4-3 to Trine and 1-0 to Bridgewater of Virginia to drop to 4-2 on the season.
In the opener of the day, the lose to Trine, Sarah Belote's one out home run in the bottom of the 6th provided the winning margin.
Trine jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third, with the key play being a two out two-run double by pitcher Andi Gasco with the bases loaded. Trine added a third run in the frame on a wild pitch.
In the top of the 4th, Holly Bastinck led off with a double, advanced to third on a sacrifice fly by Devin Fellman, and later scored on Chloe Harmon's single to left. The Bears tied the game in the fifth as Erin Lisko led off with a single and advanced to third on a throwing error. Another Trine error on a Jesse Richardson bunt scored Lisko and set the Bears up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs. The next batter Bastinck lined into a double play, as Gasco caught a line drive and doubled up Maddie Buchert at third base. Fellman's RBI double plated Richardson and tied the game 3-3.
In the top of the 6th the Bears stranded Stacia Sarwinski at second after she led off with a double.
The nightcap was a pitcher's duel as Bridgewater's Heather Jenkins tossed a one hitter to beat the Bears 1-0.
Melanie Lamb's two out RBI single in the top of the first plated Kasey Anderson, who had reached on an error and later stole second base.
Feindel scattered four hits, walked two and struck out 12 in the second game to drop to 4-2 on the season.
