McKenna Named Second Team All-NEWMAC

BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman Courtney McKenna was named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) second team All Conference.

McKenna burst on to the scene this season for Coast Guard leading the Bears in seven different offensive categories even though she missed the final six game of the season due to injury.

McKenna led the entire NEWMAC, batting .495 on the season. Her batting average is also currently 15th in all of Division III. She fell one point short of tying the single season record at the Academy of .496. She was third in the conference in OBP (.510), tied for fourth in doubles (11) and hits (46), tied for fifth in RBI's (31) and sixth in slugging (.688).

She was named Athlete of the Week twice this season and will be the Bears top offensive threat next year to a team that returns all but on player that batted .320 with 181 runs batted in.
