Coach Illinger is in her sixth year coaching at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. She is the local softball recruiting coordinator.

Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and post-season experience to the Bears softball team. Engaging in all aspects of coaching the Bears, she specializes in outfield, offensive and defensive short game play and base running.

She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Ithaca College in physical education, where she was a multi-position player for the Perennial powerhouse, Ithaca College Bombers.

Coach Illinger is a Connecticut native, hailing from Hanover, CT where she was a softball standout at Norwich Free Academy. In 2008-2009, she was the recipient of the New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Assistant Coaches Award.

She is a Physical Education teacher at New London Middle School.
