NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Sophomore Mary Budri has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Budri backstopped the Bears with two conference victories this week. In a 10-7 win over Wellesley, Budri made five saves on 13 shots for a 41.7 save percentage and a 7.00 goals against average and grabbed two ground balls. In a 9-7 victory over Mount Holyoke, Budri made 12 saves on 19 shots to have a 63.2 save percentage and 7.00 goals against average. She also picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Budri finishes the week with a 7.00 GAA and 54.8 save percentage.
Budri currently leads the NEWMAC with a 9.46 goals against average and a 53.1 save percentage.
The Bears are back in action on the road Wednesday, April 24 at 5:00 PM at MIT.
