CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT led 11-0 at halftime and beat visiting Coast Guard 16-2 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
MIT improves to 9-7 overall and 6-1 in conference play while the Bears drop to 6-10 overall and 3-4 in the NEWMAC.
Coast Guard has secured a spot in the NEWMAC tournament for the second straight season. The Bears close the regular season on Saturday at home against Wheaton. If the Bears beat Wheaton and MIT beats Smith, Coast Guard would host Wheaton in the quarterfinals, otherwise the Bears will be on the road.
MIT out shot the Bears 36-13.
