Shermot Tied for 5th at East Stroudsburg Open

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Mike Shermot tied for fifth place in the 165 pound bracket in the 46th Annual East Stroudsburg Open.

Shermot won his first two matches 7-4 and 8-7 before advancing on a medical decision in his third round. Shermot dropped his fourth match by pin fall, denying him the chance to wrestle in the final round. In the loser's bracket, he dropped his only match 9-4.

Junior Luke Taylor and sophomore Nate Giorgio each picked up three wins, two by pin fall, while sophomore Mike Giorgio recorded two wins.

Coast Guard also sent wrestlers to the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College where freshman Marc Wagner finished in fifth place in the 174 pound bracket.
