Giorgio Goes 1-2 at NCAA Championships

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—Sophomore Nate Giorgio went 1-2 at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships hosted by Cornell College.

Giorgio, the second seed at 125 pounds, lost a 5-2 decision to Christopher Donaldson from Ursinus in his first match. He then registered a 17-0 tech. fall win over Tom Casper from Springfield before being eliminated as he dropped a 2-0 decision to Mike Fuenffinger from Augsburg.

Last year, Giorgio placed fourth at 125 to earn All-America honors.

This year Giorgio finished with record of 24-8 overall. He was 16-4 at 133 pounds and 8-4 at 125 pounds. He placed second at both the Messiah Invitational and New Standard York Invitational at 133 pounds and placed second at the All-Academy Championships at 125 pounds this season.
