Wrestling Falls 38-8 at Arch-Rival Merchant Marine

KING'S POINT, N.Y.-Sophomore Michael Giorgio and freshman Phillip Azzari both picked up victories for Coast Guard but isn't wasn't enough to overcome a pair of pins and a tech. fall by Merchant Marine as the Mariners claimed a 38-8 victory on Thursday night.

Merchant Marine improves to 10-3 in dual meets with the victory while Coast Guard falls to 4-9 on the season.

After a pair of losses to open the match, Giorgio (141) defeated Nathan Twito 18-0 by tech fall at 2:45 to cut the Bears' deficit to 11-5. Following a string of five more Merchant Marine wins Azzari got Coast Guard's second and final victory defeating Ricky Fisher by a final count of 3-1.

Coast Guard returns to action on Sunday, February 9th when the host Bridgewater State and WPI at noon.
