Bears Drop Season Opener

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/1/11)--Freshman Rebecca Slivinsky made her collegiate debut a memorable one as she scored the only goal of the game leading Albertus Magnus to a season-opening 1-0 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.

Slivinsky took a pass from sophomore Meghan Loughman and found the back of the net with four minutes left in the first half.

Albertus had four of its five shots in the first half while Coast Guard had all four of its shots in the second half.

Senior Sarah Boudreau made four saves to register the opening day shutout for the Falcons.

Senior Mary Mills had four saves for Coast Guard.
