NEW LONDON, Conn.-Coast Guard junior Holly Moore has been named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Second Team as voted on by the eleven head coaches in the NEWMAC.
Moore, a goalkeeper, finished the season ranked fifth in the NEWMAC with 84 saves. She also finished in the top seven in goals against average (1.62), shutouts (3), and save percentage (.771). The all-conference honor is the first of Moore's career. Moore is the first Coast Guard goalkeeper to be named to the all-conference team since Joan Pavlish who was a three-time selection from 2001-2003.
The Bears were also named the recipient of the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award.
Coast Guard finished 6-11-2 this season advancing to the NEWMAC Tournament for the first time since 2003. Their three wins in conference play were the most since the 2002 season when they recorded four.
