NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior goalkeeper Rachel Boohar has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week as the Bears beat defending NEWMAC champion WPI 1-0 on Saturday.
Boohar made four saves in the 1-0 win at WPI to register her second shutout of the season. She is fourth in the conference with 36 saves on the year and tied for fourth with two shutouts. In her only other game this past week, Boohar made five saves allowing one goal against Conn. College, ranked 20th nationally.
Coast Guard is 4-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Bears host Johnson & Wales tonight at 6:00 in a non-conference game.
